Sunday May 3 - Bandhavgarh NP

4:45 a.m. came all too early this morning, but somehow we all managed to make it (minus Ray who lay miserably in the tent) for our 5:15 a.m. meeting for our safari in the park. The park is a jungle of mainly Sal trees and has one of the largest populations of tigers in India. It is also supposed to have leopards, jungle cats, hyena, porcupine and jackal. We saw an abundance of spotted deer, monkeys and managed a couple of peacocks and boars as well. There supposedly was a tiger in one of the areas we were in, but I never saw it. Rather disappointing but on the positive side it was a beautiful jeep ride in the early morning.

Around mid morning Ray started to surface again and we sat and chilled and worked out our re-course on the potential cancellation of our China/Mongolia/Russia trip. We spent the afternoon around the pool, had dinner, and crashed in our tent around 10:30 p.m.
